Netherwing
Egg Hunting = Quick Netherwing Drake Mount
It was about the second day of grinding Netherwing faction, I decided to start keeping track of the locations of all the eggs i found just sitting on the ground, or out in the open somewhere. I found about 12 eggs before I started keeping track, but I am a Miner trade so I got a few from mining nethercite nodes, and a few from flayer and ravager drops.
Below are the locations of eggs that I found ONLY on the ground somewhere. I DID NOT PUT IN ANY FROM MINING NETHERCITE NODES, OR FROM MOB DROPS. These locations are all from eggs just sitting there waiting to be 'collected'. I have noted the number of times found at location in (x), and also included notes if I thought there was need. All but 2 eggs I found were INSIDE THE MINE. Only 2 were outside, and I did get one egg from a nethercite node outside. I KNOW they can appear outside, but I spent way more time inside the mine. Best day I found 20 eggs (but I did spend a lot of time doing it). Here is the list:
64, 84
64, 85 (closer to entrance, floating in the air)
64, 86 (2) (not in mine cart)
64, 86 (2) (In mine cart)
65, 84 (In mine cart)
65, 85
66, 81
66, 82
67, 79
67, 87
68, 83 (2)
69, 81 (2)
69, 82
69, 86
70, 82
70, 83
70, 86
72, 86 (Under the Dragon trapped in the mine)
72, 88 (2)
73, 85
74, 85
74, 88
74, 89
76, 83 (Outside mine, under the dragon skull)
78, 79 (Outside mine, top of big crystal)
One thing I can say for sure is the flayer area in the mines was absolutely egg heaven for me. When in the mine look down every little alcove because I saw them in just about everyone, although I only wrote them down when I myself got them. I lost the face off a few times... lol. Damn rogues, the egg hunting MASTERS. lol. Well, all are my picks except for the one that says 'under the dragon trapped in the mine'. A guy I was partied with got that one but I wrote it down since it was confirmed.
Here is what I did when I started to get the hang of the mines. I would run in and get the Cargo quest from the Mistress ([70] Picking up the Pieces) and the Ravager/Flayer quest from the foreman ([70] Dragons are the Least of Our Problems). Then I would enter the mine and check BOTH entry tunnels. I have seen eggs spawned in both entry tunnels so check. Easy 250 rep if you find one. Then I would run past the oozes (they really only aggro if you touch them), and I would check the first piece of the flayer area. You can do this buy running up the incline and blinking through where the fence comes together. I as a mage can of course blink, but I have seen rogues get through too, but I am not sure how they do it. I couldn't get through until I blinked. Then I kill the first 4 flayers and ravager. Check the cave alcove behind the platform. There are eggs back there hidden unless you go far enough to get LOS to back. After checking that back alcove I would run back down to the entry tunnel, and run quickly down the tracks. I had seen a lot of eggs on the tracks but had only been quick enough to get a couple. Make a quick visual check of the circular track area where the bursters roam. If you don't see any turn toward the flayer run. As you are on the tracks you can see partially into certain flayer areas, and I saw eggs there from time to time, so I would hustle and fight my way in which ever way was quicker, either back from the entry, or further down in coming back up. But hustle pays off. Eggs rule, and seriously shorten the grind. There is no limit to how many you can turn in each day, and at 250 rep... dang.
Anyway, if I didn't see any eggs running down the tracks I would head back up and grind down the flayer corridor. finish the dailys, and keep going. Eventually you end up at the Murkblood miners. Now here I found about 6 eggs. 2 were partially hidden and the very end of the murkblood area. And the others were out in the open. The partially hidden ones are in the tube of that water wheel looking thing, hidden from view by the wood. If you don't pay attention you will run right by them. The only reason I saw them was the smoke coming up, and at that location because of lighting it wasn't 100% obvious like the smoke from other locations. Not sure why, could be my settings. lol. But always check there.
After I hit murkbloods I would jump down to the trapped dragon area, and run back out through the burster area. Lots of nodes in that area for you miners, and I found out 8 eggs in that area either in the alcoves or under the track runs. Keep your eyes open.
After running back out and turing in the dailys, I would do another lap. Sometimes full laps, sometimes partials depending if I spied eggs somewhere.
So just do this, have fun, and soon your Netherwing Drake will be soaring above the Outland!
